Here in the Pūrerehua room this month we have been spending lots of time outdoors, we know winter is fast approaching so now it the time to make the most of our lovely weather.

We decided to use our parachute to create a cave for our tamariki, a place they could use for quiet time. Some of our older tamariki gathered pillows, pukapuka (books) and gathered with their hoa (friends) to chill and relax in the outdoor environment.

Our gardens have harvested many vegetables and fruit, our apple tree this year was loaded with apples the tamariki could gather and share with all the other rooms. This is an important part of our culture and centre philosophy around sustainable practice and healthy eating. Now is the time to start looking forward to Matariki and what we can plant for our colder seasons.
