Car Play

This morning the tamariki (children) built this road on the table together and I have observed lots of problem solving and perseverance. They improve their abilities and confidence in socialising and communicating with others. They learn to find answers to minor conflicts in play and practice using oral language.

Teachers support this by listening and talking to children about what they are doing and helping them sort out problems such as breaking the road and fixing it. They learn to be patient when waiting for the person at the front to move and they play by the rules well.
