Celebrating Diverse Cultures at BestStart Kauri Flats

At Beststart Kauri Flats, we value and respect different cultures. That's why we embrace the opportunities to celebrate cultural events and encourage our whanau to join us. We are lucky enough to have Families and Kaiako from diverse cultural backgrounds which helps us to know more about each other and celebrate the first-hand knowledge they bring to the centre.
The knowledge and expertise of our teachers is valuable to us. We began the year 2023 by celebrating Chinese New Year followed by Waitangi Day, Holi, Anzac Day, Vaisakhi, Eid, Easter, Samoan Language Week and Matariki. Our experienced Kaiako have planned various experiences such as painting, music /movement, artwork and so on based upon the cultural events centre wide. We did have a huge whanau involvement in these celebrations to make them a success.
Kāhore taku toa i te toa takitahi, he toa takitini. We cannot succeed without the support of those around us.
