Our Matariki celebration was a beautiful evening filled with whanaungatanga, connection and community spirit.
It was wonderful to see our tamariki, whānau and kaiako come together to honour this special time of reflection, remembrance and new beginnings.
A highlight of the celebration was the video performance from each room, showcasing the talents, creativity, and learning journeys of our tamariki. Families enjoyed watching the performances and celebrating the unique contribution of every child. The stunning light display created a magical atmosphere, reminding us of the stars of Matariki shining brightly above us.
Throughout the evening, tamariki proudly shared their Matariki-inspired arts and crafts, while face painting brought smiles and excitement to many happy faces. The delicious kai enjoyed by everyone reflected the importance of manaakitanga, bringing people together to share food, stories, and laughter.
We were also grateful to welcome the Te Whatu Ora nurses, who provided free vaccinations for our community. Their presence supported the wellbeing of our whānau and demonstrated the power of communities working together.
Matariki reminds us of the importance of aroha, belonging, togetherness, and connectedness. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this celebration such a memorable occasion for our centre whānau. Matariki whetū heri kai – Matariki, the bringer of wellbeing, hope and unity.
