BestStart Waitangirua

Located in the heart of Waitangirua, in Porirua, BestStart Waitangirua is a diverse and welcoming early learning centre where culture, identity and community are celebrated every day. We create a place where every tamaiti can feel a strong sense of belonging, while whānau are welcomed as an important part of their child's learning journey.

Whether your child is starting their early learning journey or getting ready for school, we offer:

• Celebrating culture and identity: We value the unique cultures, identities and experiences each child and whānau brings to our centre, creating an inclusive environment where tamariki can be proud of who they are.
• Strong whānau relationships: Our relationships with families are at the heart of everything we do. We work closely with whānau to understand each child's needs, interests and background and use these connections to shape meaningful learning experiences.
• Set for School: Our older tamariki are supported to build the independence, confidence, social and early learning skills they need for a positive transition to school. As a lunch box centre, children also have opportunities to practise managing their own lunch boxes and developing the self-help skills they'll use at school.
• Connected to our community: Regular excursions and centre events help tamariki explore the Waitangirua community and understand the world around them.
• Neighbourhood heroes: We welcome whānau into our centre to share their knowledge, experiences and connections with the local community, giving children opportunities to learn from the people who make their neighbourhood special.
