Celebrating our cultures
October saw us welcoming slightly warmer weather as well as celebrating Diwali - the festival of lights.
Here at BestStart Delta we celebrated with all the pomp this festival brings.
Having expert teachers who hail from India where this festival is celebrated over a week, we were lucky to have first-hand knowledge of protocols, such as extending kindness to the less fortunate by offering gifts or sharing food. We were then able to scaffold these to children.
This is beautifully linked to out vision here at the centre - 'Whether Big or small the gift of kindness sets children up for life.'
At our centre we embrace the opportunities to celebrate each other cultures and we go all out inviting whanau to join us.
