Today at BestStart Te Awamutu, we proudly celebrated Pink Shirt Day by coming together to promote kindness, inclusion, and respect within our centre community.
Tamariki and teachers wore pink to show our support for creating a safe environment where everyone feels valued, accepted, and supported.
Throughout the day, we explored what kindness looks like through conversations, stories, creative activities, and positive interactions with one another. Our tamariki shared thoughtful ideas about being a good friend, helping others, using kind words, and making sure everyone feels included during play and learning experiences.
Pink Shirt Day is an important opportunity for us to reinforce the values we nurture every day at BestStart Te Awamutu, empathy, belonging, manaakitanga, and caring for others. By encouraging respectful relationships from an early age, we help children build the confidence and social skills needed to stand up for kindness and support one another.
We would like to thank our wonderful whānau for joining us in recognising this special day and helping us create a strong sense of community.
Together, we can continue to grow a culture where every child feels safe, celebrated, and empowered to be themselves.
