At BestStart Avondale, tamariki were able to observe and be involved in the popular Hindu festival of Raksha Bandhan (the tie or knot of protection). This festival celebrates the special bond of love and trust between brothers and sisters. Tamariki were excited to make an Indian sweet with their whanau and friends.

Celebrating cultural events like this support tamariki to experience different cultures in a fun and interactive way. We would like to thank our whanau who took part in the cooking experience and brought yummy food for our shared lunch.
