Celebrating the Olympics at BestStart Wairakei Road
The children at BestStart Wairakei
Road were very interested in the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. With
this in mind, the teachers provided a range of
experiences for the children to explore. We read books, watched videos,
designed medals and
created flags. We began the Wairakei Road Olympics with an opening
ceremony and children competed in a range of sporting events over the
week. The focus as always was on trying your best and having fun. It was
also a fantastic opportunity for the children to participate in structured and
planned physical play activities.
At the end of the week, teachers held a medal ceremony and congratulated our Olympians on their participation and their perseverance. Many of our children continue to proudly wear their medals to preschool. We all love seeing their ongoing enthusiasm and passion.
