Change in seasons

As we move from Aperira to Mei there has been fewer warmer weather days. The Kauri room has been taken full advantage of these days by enjoying messy play, water play, and sand play under the sun.

We have expressed our individual personalities, sense of belonging, and cultures through role-play and celebration days like Wacky Hair Day, Sign language week, Easter, and Vaisakhi (an Indian harvest festival).

An interest in the Kauri room among many of the tamariki is literacy. We have expanded on this using art, penmanship, storytelling, and korero.

As the school holidays ended, so did the learning journey (at BestStart Waiuku) for some of our friends, we farewelled with a graduation. The learning never stops in the Kauri, and there is always more fun to have.

I wonder what adventures we will get up to next.
