Chief Rocket and the Fire Brigade

We were very fortunate to have a visit from our Local Fire Brigade. Chief Rocket spoke to the tamariki about Fire Safety and how to be safe in case of a fire. We also got the chance to use the powerful water hose. The tamariki patiently lined up to take a turn before they received an emergency call out.

Lots of tamariki have an interest in fire trucks and last month created a Fire Truck out of a box. This was the perfect opportunity to extend on this interest.

At BestStart Beckenham, we aim to create many opportunities for tamariki to interact with the community. These interactions can help tamariki develop new skills and knowledge, understand being a part of a community and feeling a sense of belonging.
