In the Taranaki space (3.5- 6 year olds) at BestStart Mangorei Road we have introduced a meditation time in correspondence with our group focus on social and emotional well-being. After lunch ngā tamariki pick a blanket and snuggle up while they listen to a guided meditation, focusing on deep breathing and relaxing their body and mind. We introduced meditation to increase focus, self-control, coping strategies and emotional regulation and encourage healthier relationships between ngā tamariki. We love the benefits that have come from our daily meditation, our afternoons are far more relaxed, productive and happy!
