Here at BestStart Parton Road we have been learning about how 2022 is the Year of Tiger. Together we celebrated with some Chinese traditions. Our kaiako Tianle told the legend of the Chinese New Year. Our tamariki are were intrigued by the Nian Monster story. Red in Chinese New Year is the best color to fight back the Nian Monster. We all wear in red to celebrate the Tiger Year and bring us good luck! Children very also given red pockets with golden chocolate coins, which brings them best wishes and luck for whole year.

Thank you to our fantastic teachers Tianle Pan and Wenjun for teaching us about the Chinese New Year. We completed the celebrations by wearing red and sharing food, it was such a beautiful day.
