Welcome to the Year of the Rabbit!

Over the week of Lunar New Year celebrations, BestStart Dannemora has been embracing the opportunities to respect the diversity and learn about Chinese culture.

Teachers and tamariki worked together to give the centre a festive look. Tamariki explored and experienced a variety of activities which were well linked to the Chinese culture. 

A big thanks to our local Chinese community and our amazing parents who came to share the new year traditions, perform a dance, and teach us how to do ribbon dancing! These activities brought the Chinese culture and celebrations to life. 

We are supporting children develop such understandings through the context of real-life experiences so they can be remembered.
