Christmas 2022 at BestStart Blenheim Central
It's December, the month we get to celebrate our successes and enjoy the festive session with family and friends. Here at BestStart Blenheim Central we thought what better way to do this then a Christmas holiday programme filled with themed activities for all to enjoy and participate in.
The Tahi and Rua rooms both had their own programmes with some variants but also events we could enjoy together. Sleigh day was a hit in Rua, children couldn't wait to show their friends and teachers the sleigh they had created using tinsel, lights and other decorations.
Festive messy play was a hit in Tahi - festive salt, Christmas playdough and candy cane gloop were enjoyed and explored by most. Art was also included with many creating stars, weaved Christmas trees, Santa plates and much more! Other activities included Christmas dress up day, treasure hunt, themed stories and songs and more.
Through these experiences the children have expressed their ideas, thoughts, feelings and creativity though a range of curriculum areas.
To conclude our holiday programme we celebrated with an end of year Christmas parties.
Families were invited to join in the fun including a bouncy castle, face painting, a Christmas concert, raffle baskets, shared kai and of course a special visit from Santa with his cart full of gifts for everyone. What a great way to end the year!
