Christmas and the holidays
BestStart Styx Mill had the best Christmas this year, we threw a disco and a picnic here at preschool and Santa even came with some gifts for us too! It was so great having all of our families come together and celebrate with one another.
We spent our Christmas holidays doing something special each day for our tamariki who still atteneded preschool during this time. We had a wonderful water day when the sun was shining, pyjama day on a colder day, bike day, a teddy bears picnic, crazy hair day, discos and even a fish and chip Friday which was a huge hit with our tamariki.
We missed our holidaying tamariki while they were off spending time with families but we have welcomed them all back to start the new year with a bang! We can't wait to celebrate other special events with our whanau this year too as we provide an environment that is rich with the languages and symbols of children’s own and other cultures. Soon we have Lunar New Year, so keep an eye out for photos of this special celebration too!
