Christmas Crafts
The weather couldn't dampen our spirits as we held our 2022 Christmas Party.
The children had been very busy, all making a box full of Christmas crafts for their families. Included were plants, cookies, reindeer food, photo magnets, tree decorations, and more!
We started the party with some of our favorite Christmas stories before heading off to sing Carols and enjoy the sausage sizzle and Christmas cookies we had made. The star of the show was of course Santa! As he arrived the children all waited patiently for a chance to tell him what they wanted for Christmas and to get a treat from his Santa sack. It was amazing that Santa knew all the children's names and even things about them that only their teacher would know!
It was lovely to see all the families and Whanau mixing and mingling as they put names to faces and reflected on the year that was.
It is important to value and builds on the knowledge and experiences that children bring with them to the Early childhood setting. This involves making links to special events celebrated by families, whanau, and local and cultural communities. The wider world of family and Community is an integral part of the early childhood curriculum.
