On Friday the 5th of December, we celebrated another great year of learning with our tamariki with our annual Christmas party and Market Day.
Leading up to this event, the tamariki learned some Christmas songs, so they could put on a show for their whaanau, did lots of artwork so the room could be decorated and festive, and we created calendars so we could fundraise for our bouncy castle hire.
We had some great community support in the form of stalls, selling crafts, coffee, and yummy food. As this was only our second year holding the market day, we are still learning what works and what doesn't, and we have found that to get greater buy in and attendance from the community, we must advertise more.
We will be planning our market day a lot earlier next year and will take the tamariki out for walks to delever flyers directly into the letterboxes of our close community. On the day, our tamariki did a great job of performing for their whaanau, enjoyed seeing Santa and getting a small gift, and had great fun on the bouncy castle which was set up to run from 2pm till 6pm.
What a great day had by all!
