Cloud 9 Trip

In our under-two's classroom this season, we have been focusing on the learning schema TRAJECTORY.

This schema focuses on how items move through space and how our bodies move through space.

We have been making paper planes, using a range of balls and vehicles with ramps, lots of physical skills to explore the ways that our bodies work, and art that involves throwing, dropping, and squeezing.

To celebrate this learning, we decided to do a trip to Cloud 9 trampoline park in our Best Start van. Our tamariki and kaiako absolutely loved the experience and tired themselves out bouncing, falling, chasing, and kicking balls. Our learning priorities and centre philosophy include being curious and confident.

Our Explorers showed huge confidence in this change to their usual routine, with resilience and curiosity to learn and engage in a new environment. We are doing a second trip to include more children from our classroom. Children got to take home a laminated poster of photographs on the same day, to encourage sharing their experience with their family.

The feedback from parents was positive and grateful, expressing how much fun their tamariki had. We will continue to take excursions to support learning.
