Colour and print making

Colour and print making

This week we have tried out the skill of printmaking with several different tools. To begin with, we reused bubble wrap from resources purchased for the classroom.

We sponged on the paint in a pattern or splotches, ensuring it wasn't too thick. Then we placed a piece of paper onto the painted bubble wrap and rubbed it over with our hands. Next, we carefully pulled back the paper to reveal our print.

Our next printmaking experience was using the sponges to print a pattern onto our page. Some of us printed over each sponge mark with other colours to layer the paint. We also printed using pom poms to create a different pattern in our paper.

There was lots of learning in these experiences, including colour naming and choice, using different tools to create, layering paint, turn taking, asking for colours and fine motor skills.
