We had celebrated Christmas 2020 in the Centre in December with lot of support and aroha from our parents. We had organized a Christmas party in the centre which was a fun filled evening with highlights such as bouncy castle, shared food, Santa Claus, decorations, and a skit done by our pre-schoolers. The skit was a short play done by the children from preschool room showing the birth of baby Jesus and spreading the message of love and compassion. The parents were delighted to see their children performing with confidence and displaying creative art through their hard work over a period of several weeks before Christmas. The children sang Christmas carols after the play and showed off their skill in dancing too. The babies room children displayed their excitement through the baby fashion show for which the infants were dressed in beautiful Christmas characters. The toddlers displayed their singing skills through songs.

The overall celebration depicted the spirit of coming together and celebrate the togetherness of our different ethnic whanau in the Centre. The parent’s presence showed the support and their contribution towards the Centre vision of creativity along with celebrating diversity.  The Santa Claus presence added the wonder and amazement as he was presenting gifts to children which was awaited by our children. The shared kai emphasised the concept of sharing, love and care amongst our children through role modelling by teachers and parents.
