Community Connections

Our Montessori Ōtūmoetai community came together in a heart-warming way this holiday season, rallying to support the Ōtūmoetai Social Supermarket.

Families generously donated boxes of chocolates and a wonderful selection of family games, all chosen to bring a little extra joy to those in need over the festive period.

As part of this meaningful project, we took an excursion using our local bus service to visit the Social Supermarket in person. On arrival, we were warmly welcomed and given a tour of the incredible community Kai Garden.

The children were amazed by the wide variety of fruit and vegetables growing there, and even had the chance to taste some fresh produce straight from the garden. It was a beautiful example of sustainability and community care in action. Inside the Social Supermarket, we explored how the service supports local families and had the opportunity to help stack our donated items on the shelves. Contributing directly to the space made our efforts feel even more special.

This experience was a wonderful way for our tamariki and whānau to connect, give back, and strengthen our sense of community. We are proud of the kindness and teamwork shown by Montessori Ōtūmoetai.
