It’s that magical time of year again—not just for buying presents, but for being present, sharing laughter, and spending precious moments with those we hold dear.
Here at Best Start Taita, Christmas beautifully reflects the principles at the heart of our philosophy: Whānau Tangata (community), Mana (identity), Pārekareka (fun), Whakaute (respect), Mahi Tahi (working together), and Kōteote Wānanga (learning and development).
Christmas fills our centre with sparkle as we celebrate the Pārekareka (fun) and kotahitanga (unity) of the season. It brings countless opportunities to help ngā tamariki feel connected - to each other, to their kaiako, and to our wider community. We look for oppourtunities to teach tamariki about giving back to the community and the many organisations that support the community,
Manaaki is all around us at this time of year it is important to embrace this as teachable moments that shape how our next generation support the wider community. Our Christmas party was a wonderful celebration, bursting with excitement and festive cheer.
From Christmas crafts and painting to face painting, a bouncy castle, a sausage sizzle, and cheerful photo booths, there was joy at every turn. What a beautiful way to come together and share the spirit of the season!
