Connecting to Papatuanuku

Every Thursday at BestStart Naenae we head out on a Ngahere tamariki adventure. We took four tamariki who had previously been to help create tuakana-teina relationships as children help each other along the journey.

There has been lots of rain this week, which had created lots of muddy patches in the bush for the children to explore. As we headed along the track, making our way to the clearing that we normally explore, the children talked about the different sounds they could hear. Once we made it to our spot the children sat down in the bush and enjoyed their morning tea together. After morning tea, we played a game of hide and seek as the children hid behind trees and under fallen leaves.

We love our time out in the bush as we connect to Papatuanuku and find hidden little treasures as we explore nature and its great to see the children gaining so much confidence.
