Gardening is a wonderful way for the children at BestStart Montessori Taradale to connect with nature and nurture living things.

It provides learning opportunities for studying parts of seeds, flowers and plants. The children love to dig in the dirt and get great exercise while doing so!

We are fortunate to have lots of natural outdoor space and gardens, where our children can be part of the growing process. They have ownership of the gardens along with Brooke - our wonderful outdoor teacher - and regularly get to enjoy the food and flowers produced in them.

This summer, we have had the opportunity to plant seeds and watch them sprout, carefully transferring them into the garden and watching them grow. And of course, harvesting and eating fresh produce is the best!
