During the holiday period we surprised the children with special visitors from our community. We were overwhelmed by the support we received form the local library, fire-brigade, the team from DNA Hairdressing and the local Police.

Constable Sean Patterson became the centre of attention, as he followed the children’s inquisitive lead. The children were very interested in the police uniform, in particular the many pockets and what was in them! Then we ventured outside into the carpark to explore Constable Patterson’s police car.  The children were supervised as they actively explored; hands on at the steering wheel, in and over seats, nobs, buttons, gears and sirens, seat belts on and off, and there was even and a fun competition to see how many children could fit in the police car. Each child leaving their day with us as an honorary police officer with a badge to prove it.

We all thoroughly enjoyed the relaxed and interactive experience Constable offered the children and we are very grateful to able to help make those positive connections for the children in the community.
