Creative Station
Here at BestStart Lynmore, we are strongly guided by our 5 centre principles. These are Playbased Learning, Relationships, Oral Language, Social and Emotional Competencies, and Te Ao Maori embedded in our local curriculum. In the Whare Taonga Room (The Treasure Hut), we support the emotional well-being of all the tamariki (children) enabling them to become independent, self-directed, confident lifelong learners. This is reflected in our centre Vision, "Learn today, Lead tomorrow".
Our teacher in training brought back the glue station activity from her practicum. This has inspired all the teachers to collect resources to enable the children to have choices and be creative using a different medium. The hot glue creative station is set out each day with different resources and materials for the tamariki to be creative and construct their own pieces.
The tamariki experience an environment where they are encouraged to work alongside their peers. The tamariki are developing positive relationships and making their own choices. Tamariki are able to represent discoveries using creative and expressive media. Let the uniqueness of the child guide our work. Ko Te ahurei o te tamariki arahi o tatou mahi.
