Cultural Day at ABC Epsom
At ABC Epsom we celebrated our Annual Cultural Day today. We invited parents to join us for lunch and asked for them to bring a plate to share food from their culture so that children had an opportunity to explore different food from different cultures.
We are a multicultural centre, where children and teachers are from different countries. We believe by providing children with a multicultural programme helps to boost self-esteem and teaches them about acceptance and diversity.
On our Cultural Day the children and teachers came dressed in their own cultural dress. There were displays of cultural clothes, artifacts, utensils and different materials for children to touch, feel and explore. We played different cultural music, and the children danced to the music and expressed their feelings of excitement through different body movements. The children were very curious to listen to songs in different languages and had so much fun while dancing to the music. Everyone enjoyed the yummy cultural food from many different cultures around the world!
