This year we celebrated Daffodil Day using our local community heritage - South Hagley Park. Parkside is fortunate to be located in front of Hagley Park, providing many opportunities for the tamariki to explore nature. We have regular walks and playtime at the park. This month since the park was covered with beautiful blooming Daffodil flowers, the children went to the park to do Daffodil painting. The teachers also took some beautiful photographs of the children doing the painting and sitting around the flowers. The photographs were digitally printed at the photo shop and sold to parents to fund raise for the Cancer Society.  A generous amount was collected by the centre. The parents and visitors commented that this was a brilliant idea and a meaningful way to create awareness about the community amongst the children. Parkside is proud to have children, parents and community who support our ventures.
