Every Thursday the children at BestStart Lemon Street go for a walk to Webster Park Field for our pop up Playgroup - Dance in the Park.  We take our portable speaker and a selection of songs that we dance dance dance to.  Our favorite songs are  'Hop little bunny', 'Baby Shark', and Tutira mai nga iwi.  These are all action songs and as 'Dance in the Park' is open for whaanau and tamariki outside BestStart Lemon Street we teach the children that come along our dance moves.  Sometimes we take the parachute too, we move it in time to the music and run under it when it goes up in the air.  Our teachers are great dancers too and they dance with us all around the field.

Tamariki learn so much through dance - a great range of motion, body awareness, balance, muscle strength, coordination, and endurance. Movement patterns require nga tamariki to use their entire body, no wonder we are tired when we come back to the centre from Dance in the Park.  We love going to Dance in the Park  it is so much fun, you should come and join us.
