Recently we held our first disco where we invited in our whānau and celebrated alongside them, where we could enjoy some favourite songs and have a wee boogie, it was a nice night for the families to be involved and see some of the friendships that have been developed by their children. This was also a really good opportunity for the parents to get to know one another especially the families that wouldn’t normally see each other and a nice way for the new families to be welcomed into our centre. We had a wonderful shared kai which each family brought something different from their culture to share. Our Preschool pet Myrtle the turtle even got to be involved with all the lights and action, she loved all the attention. We all had a lot of fun and the night eventually came to an end, but no one wanted to leave….there will definitely have to be a next time!
