Even at a very young age, we encourage our children to develop friendships, and in our nursery, this is a great place to start.  When our babies spend time together, they begin to understand how each other works developing working theories about other humans. Studies have found that friendships enable children to learn more about themselves and develop their own identity. As children mature, friends can help reduce stress and navigate challenging developmental experiences.
