Sometimes all it takes is a hose in the sandpit to get the boys together! Like bees to honey, Nikolai, Benji, Frank and Zef made a bee line to the water.. and there they stayed for the duration of the day! The sandpit was transformed into a building site, trucks, pipes and diggers controlled the flow of the water and depth of the water hole.

The conversations around the water hole were a mix of machinery noises and discussions on what was happening, how they were working together and floods and tsunamis. The boys listened to each ether and took turns using the trucks and digger. Great to see these 4 boys playing so cooperatively together. 4 boys and a water hole ... new friends and connections made.

Sand and water play is always a hit with the children. This area of play is essential for higher level learning in sensory exploration, mathematical and scientific concepts, language development, creativity and social skills.
