Dinosaur discoveries
Since February, BestStart Pharazyn's Tamariki Maia have been learning about dinosaurs. Through provocations set up by teachers, the children were able to investigate, make discoveries and learn some of the names of the dinosaurs. In the last few weeks, the children were starting to make connections between the dinosaur species and the living species today. The children discovered that Tuatara's were around when some of the dinosaurs were living. To extend this learning and interest, we went on a trip to Zealandia. It was indeed a great experience for our tamariki, being out exploring the wider world and making connections between their discoveries here and what they can see in their community.
