Our tamariki enjoy working alongside each other in groups (Kotahitanga)

Our qualified and experienced teaching team provide quality care and are very passionate about supporting children's growth and wellbeing.

Children's social skills are developed through small group activities which play a crucial role in enhancing tamariki/children social skills by encouraging peer interaction, complementing the personalised support they receive in one-on-one settings.

Our small and intimate learning environments help tamariki/children to speak up and share their thoughts with confidence while practising sharing and taking turn, actively listening, and communicating effectively to develop emotional understanding and awareness.

We provide this through the following:

  • Play-Based Learning: We encourage children to explore and learn through play which supports creativity and social interaction.

  • Group Activities: We divide children into smaller groups allowing for more focused learning which helps kaiako/teachers tailor activities to different skill levels.

  • Peer Teaching: We support and encourage children to explain concepts to each other. This strengthens understanding and builds confidence.

  • Group Problem-Solving: Providing activities like puzzles or building challenges to promote critical thinking, which helps children learn to work together to find solutions.
