At BestStart Te Awamutu, we know the first years of a child's life are precious.
Our infant and toddler spaces are filled with opportunities for little ones to feel safe, loved, and supported as they begin their journey of discovery.
Sensory play is a big part of our everyday learning. Whether children are splashing in water, exploring playdough, feeling natural treasures, creating with paint, or listening and moving to music, they are learning through hands-on experiences that spark curiosity and joy.
For our youngest children, these experiences help build confidence, communication skills, coordination, and an understanding of the world around them. Just as importantly, sensory play creates moments of connection. Our caring kaiako take the time to sit alongside children, follow their interests, and celebrate each new discovery, ensuring every child feels valued and capable. We also love extending learning outdoors, where children can experience the sights, sounds, and textures of nature.
From feeling grass beneath their feet to collecting leaves and exploring the changing seasons, our outdoor environment provides endless opportunities for wonder and exploration. At BestStart Te Awamutu, we work closely with whānau to support each child's unique learning journey.
Together, we create a warm, nurturing environment where infants and toddlers can grow in confidence, develop strong relationships, and build a lifelong love of learning through play, exploration, and meaningful sensory experiences.
