Dogwise flagship programme
BestStart Silverdale was visited by BARK, a dogwise flagship programme for ECE centres and schools.
Jenga the Labrador and Eileen the Bullmastiff, along with the programme coordinator Heather, taught our tamariki how to approach dogs in a safe way and what to do if a dog approaches you.
Our tamariki were then able to meet the dogs Jenga and Eileen for pats, licks and cuddles!
Through this experience, our children developed confidence and learned how to have positive experiences with dogs.
