Dressing up because we care
We always C.A.R.E at BestStart Totara Street. As you would have seen in previous blogs we have a strong connection with C.A.R.E animal rescue in Taupo. (Community Animal Rescue and Education) C.A.R.E are a no kill animal shelter located here in Taupo, relying purely on volunteers, donations and no funding.
C.A.R.E used to be located just down the road so we would regularly take children to the shelter to look at the animals. Now that they have relocated further away, our relationship has not changed. We saw our friends were in desperate need of kitten food as the kitten season approaches so once again we had a dress up day and asked our generous centre whanau to bring a donation of kitten food to go to C.A.R.E. Once again our centre whanau did not let us down. We have a huge box of food donations and bedding to proudly drop off the rescue shelter. Our tamariki have always been community heroes!
