Easter Hat Parade at BestStart Waiata Shores
Our Easter Hat Parade was a huge success with so many of our tamariki coming to the centre with amazing hats that they had created at home with their whanau. There were big hats, small hats, colourful hats, and hats with easter bunnies, chicks and much more!
We invited whanau into the centre to watch the children as they paraded around the centre with pride wearing their amazing creations. The look on the children's faces said it all. There were smiles from ear to ear and our whanau applauded the children as they followed the leader around the playground parading to the Easter music.
The children looked so proud while wearing their hats and it was amazing hearing them acknowledge the achievements of their friends. "Wow look at yours, I love it, it's amazing", said Kiaan. This was a great experience where the akonga worked incredibly hard with help from their whanau to create their hat for the parade. It was the talk of the centre for several weeks and the children loved revisiting the photos that we displayed in the centre, sharing their thoughts and experiences from the day.
