Engaging with our children in lockdown
At Best Start Railway Road we have engaged with our whānau during lockdown in a variety of ways. Our Children have loved Zoom catch ups whether it be a special birthday celebration, special mat times or catching up with teachers and friends.
The teacher's posted specific activities for each age group daily and wow we received some amazing whānau engagement of the implementation of these activities. Children’s individual plans continued through Lockdown by teachers sharing ideas and activities whanau could do with their children at home to support their learning.
Teachers got creative with their virtual learning thinking outside the box and coming up with ways to engage with whānau like special mat time videos. We have had great feedback on how well we supported our whānau during these uncertain times.
