Experimenting with rotational and transportation schemas

Here in the Nursery at BestStart Marshland we've been focusing our learning on developmental schemas. Today I set up a ramp with the balls to support the schemas of rotation and transportation. I demonstrated to the tamariki what to do and then observed the different techniques that they were using. They loved watching the balls run down the ramp before grabbing another one and some of the children chose to use cars rather than the ball. Throughout this experience the tamariki showed great focus and coordination as well as enhancing their motor skills to hold onto the balls. I loved seeing them all trying out new activities and testing out their own ideas! Ka Pai Nursery!
