Exploring during wetdays

We have had a couple of wet days over the past few weeks but decided to get outside and explore the rain anyway.

The tamariki were all very excited as we started to put on some wet weather clothes, and they headed straight for the door. We explored painting together on the wet path, where afterwards, the tamariki were intrigued to see their artwork disappear with the rain.

The tricky and slow navigation of the obstacle course was especially fun, with a delightful descent down what was now a ‘waterslide’. A great time was had both pushing and riding on the bikes, running up and over the wet and mucky hills, and of course jumping and splashing in the puddles!

Everyone had such a great time, with lots of laughter coming from the outside playground. This type of learning provided everyone with the opportunity to explore the natural elements of the physical world.
