We have been exploring paints, colours, mixing and trial and error over the past few weeks. To change it up a bit I turned the table over and wrapped the legs with tape. Nga mokopuna were excited to come over and see what was going on. I encouraged them to come to the art cupboard with me and choose all of the colours we would need for our activity. I think we almost managed to get one of each colour. The mokopuna helped with the paint brushes and quickly got to work covering the tape. They chatted away about how quickly they were colouring or the fact that they had gone over someone else's paint and changed the colour. What a delight.

Nga mokopuna are continuing to strengthen their fine motor skills through the manipulation of the paint brushes. They are also developing relationships and strengthening their verbal and non-verbal communication with their peers.
