Exploring our senses with water & Messy Play!
The tamariki at Best Start Porchester Road have had a wonderful summer exploring in water play and messy play. We have been having lots of water play and messy lay during this month. The children have been exploring the different senses through their learning.
The tamariki have been engaging in water play which allows them to develop their fine motor skills which in turn have made them confident and competent learners. The tamariki have enjoyed getting messy and feeling the flour in their hands during the messy play. We often put in our famaily corner toys as well as our sea creature toys which has helped the children to develop their motor skills by holding the spoons firmly and pouring water in the pots. By touching the different sea creatures the echilden developed their sensory skills . They also learned the names of different sea creatures. The tuakana have been supporting our tienna in water play by helping them filling their pots with water. The children have developed wonderful friendships.
The baby tamariki really enjoyed playing with the water as well. They had a nice time sitting in the tubs and splashing water. They also enjoyed filling their family corner toys with water.
At Best Start Porchester Road the tamariki have been at the forefront and tell us what they want to learn and discover. We love our tamariki supporting each other in their learning and development.
