With the weather starting to get warmer and the sun coming out earlier in the morning, the Nursery tamariki have been venturing out to explore and investigate the outdoor environment.
They have been excited to get outside, and happily line up at the doors to have help getting into their jackets, hats and wet weather pants before venturing out.
We have been discovering some ice has been forming on our play equipment and this has led to discussions about what it looks like, how it feels in our hands (and even a few wee taste tests to better understand the coldness) It has been lovely to see the tamariki sharing the experience with each other, and passing the ice between themselves and "chatting" about what they have discovered.
The tamariki are also challenging themselves more with climbing, walking and exploring with all their senses - particularly taste. Cornflour and sand messy play have been a favourite, and they love squishing, pouring and splashing the cornflour and water - making a splatter pattern on their clothes - and big smile on their faces as they giggle over their shared excitement.
We are looking forward to exploring the outdoors more as the weather continues to warm up and experiences can be discovered.
