Here at Best Start Palmerston North Infants Room we have been exploring the mathematical concept of locating. This includes how their bodies are positioned in space. The large blocks and balance boards were perfect for creating huts and enclosures. We talked about how our bodies could fit using language in front, behind, above, left and right. The children used their imagination to make these spaces into beds, houses and boats. The children worked together sharing space, ideas and actively learning through their play
