Over the last month here in Tahi the tamariki have loved having plenty of opportunities to explore painting with many different modes.  Our children have been able to see how differently a picture can turn out depending on the objects used, when they used the paint roller they had a lot of coverage versus the ice block sticks where they got lots of fine lines and the paint didn't go quite as far as it did with the roller.  The tamariki were also able to see the cool and exciting patterns they were able to make when using the paintbrushes - when they dabbed they got lots of cool dots and saw the colours swirl and mix together but when they did brush strokes they saw the colours slowly merge together and go from two separate colours to what they look like together.  This has been a great opportunity for the children to explore different ways of painting as well as seeing how some colours are made.
