Our tamariki (children) love painting! They also love music! So...... why not combine both and make some music inspired art?!

In this activity, the tamariki created abstract art. They listened to music through headphones as they swirled, bounced, and moved the paintbrush around the paper.

I put on some classical music from the Sydney Opera House and each one of the tamariki took it in turns to put the headphones on and create their masterpiece!

It was so interesting to see all the different methods and processes the tamariki used while painting and every painting is so unique.

This activity encouraged the tamariki to explore and experiment with the art process of painting, learn about line and shape, and develop an understanding of rhythm and tempo.
