At BestStart Whangaparāoa, our Fathers Day event brought whānau together for a day of fun, photos, and treats. The celebration strengthened connections, fostered whanaungatanga, and highlighted the importance of family in our centre community.

At BestStart Whangaparāoa, we treasure whanaungatanga. Our recent Fathers Day event brought whānau together to relax, connect, and celebrate. With treats, photos, and joyful moments, it was a special day building strong bonds between families and kaiako.

We value relationships—whanaungatanga—with our whānau and love to strengthen these connections in any way we can. Centre events provide the perfect opportunity for families and educators to connect, share information about children’s progress, and build trust, leading to a more collaborative approach to childcare.

On Friday, we hosted Dads and other significant male figures in our lives. It was wonderful to see such a great turnout, with many grandparents also attending. We invited everyone to "Dress like a Dad," and tamariki and staff joined in the fun.

We provided a spread of bacon, hashbrowns, bread rolls, and juice. Parents and grandparents had the opportunity to take photos with their child or grandchild in front of our Fathers Day backdrop. It was lovely to see children and parents take time to relax while connecting with kaiako and peers, strengthening their sense of belonging.

The event received fantastic feedback, and we look forward to hosting similar celebrations in the future.
