What a fabulous turnout we had for our Father’s Day celebration!

In the week leading up to this special event, the tamariki spent time creating a variety of thoughtful gifts and treasures to share with their whānau.

They were so proud of their creations and excited to present them to the special people in their lives. It was wonderful to see so many familiar and new faces joining us for the morning. Dads, uncles, grandads, and other important whānau members came together to enjoy a delicious cooked breakfast alongside their tamariki.

The atmosphere was filled with laughter, conversation, and plenty of smiles as everyone spent quality time together. One of our centre dads, Billy, who is a stock car driver, kindly brought his stock car along for the tamariki to explore. We were incredibly fortunate to have him share this experience with us. The children were fascinated by the car and eagerly lined up for a turn to sit inside.

Billy spent time explaining how the stock car works, what it is like to race, and answered the many curious questions from our tamariki. It was a fantastic hands-on learning opportunity and a real highlight of the morning. To make the experience even more exciting, Billy provided a colouring competition for the tamariki to take part in. The children enthusiastically got creative with their entries, and we are eagerly awaiting the results and prizegiving later this week.

At our centre, we greatly value opportunities to include whānau in our learning environment. Events like these allow us to connect, share stories, strengthen relationships, and build a strong sense of community.

We believe that children thrive when families and educators work together, and it is always so special to see these connections growing. Celebrating important occasions such as Father’s Day reminds us of the many people who play significant roles in the lives of our tamariki.

We would like to thank everyone who took the time to join us and help make the morning such a memorable success. We look forward to creating many more opportunities for our whānau to come together, celebrate, and be part of our centre community.
